Sonny answers:

Decorator to the rescue here! LOL Your globes can be whatever color you want them to be, just keep in mind a few other things before you decide.

If you are having having white or cream walls, and you want plain/ neutral globes, go with ones the same as the wall color. For example, cream globes on a white wall will look dirty, go with white. Or, if you have say a white and black granite counter, go with white. If you have an earth toned counter go with cream. Buy a globe of each color, put it on the fixture. Your eye will tell you which is the right choice.

HOWEVER, no need to be plain unless that is the look you like, as they come in a great array of colors- even a tortoise shell glass, so let your imagination play.

I’d suggest starting at Lowe’s. They have a wide array of globes placed on bulbs so that you can see what they look like when fixture is on. Do keep in mind that if it’s a main bath you use for makeup, etc, a lot of colored globes can distort true skin tones. Again, for example, if you have a 3 or 4 light fixture, buy 3 or 4 globes that you like, put them all on and decide which works with your decor/ taste, then return the ones that didn’t work or just exchange them for more of the one that did.
Sorry about some of these silly replies! EVERYTHING you put into your home matters and you are not the first person to ask the exact question.

The most common system is to use separate battery/inverter/ballast
units in the fixtures designated ‘emergency’ to light one or more
These units replace the ballast normally installed for the lamp(s) in question.
The unit senses the failure of line power and automatically operates

Sonny answers:

If you car uses a separate wire for each function for the rear. Turn, brake, tail, and back up about ten foot for each to reach the steering column plus a couple of feet to use as ground wires. Then you can figure about eight feet of wire per function for the front of the car. Headlamps high and low, turn, and marker. Two wires to dome lamp for feet each.

10 X 5 = 50
8 X 4 = 32
2 X 4 = 8

So you would have approximately 90 feet of wire believe it or not. This is just for the lighting systems only.

Sonny answers:

With out electrical experience as far as to split the circuit, I suggest you hire some one for this to lighten the load as you say. I agree that if you use CFL bulbs it will lower the amperage you pull with many lights on and this will help your light bill as well.
It is not unusual to have older homes with so much on them, today’s devices use more then what they did 50 years ago of course.
As far as the breakers you know of that do not operate anything, check things like furnace, washing machine, kitchen receptacles, sump pumps maybe an old well pump. I would leave them on and make sure first they do not operate anything.
As stated before you can buy a tracer that may help you find what goes where but again time you buy this thing and take the time to do this and still may not find what you have I suggest just call maybe a friend in the field or a electrician to help you out.
If the rooms in question do not have a ot of things but lamps and a few light loads I would not worry about it till you do start tripping breakers.

What do I need to include in a theatre tech manual?

Hello, I am the director of a non-profit performing arts group. We have a live band, singers & dancers. Approx cast is 60 people. This will be our 4th major performance. We are going to a professional theatre & will have union workers. In the past I’ve always just created a manual that had, the mood I was looking for for each number as far as lighting, what types of mics are needed for each number, and a copy of what the staging layout will be. My question is, since we’re going to be using professionals this year, am I missing anything major out of this packet of info I need to provide? We’re non-profit are really having problems securing funds so I can’t hire out. Any help would be SO APPRECIATED! Thanks!

How do I change an MR-16 halogen bulb on a monorail system?

This is really hard to explain, but what I think I have is a low voltage monorail track system. it has several different kinds of lights attached to it. Some are easy to change the bulb as you just pull the bulb out. But 1 of them has a very tiny allen screw that I recall being told I have to unscrew first. So I have the tiny allen wrench. I unscrewed the screw, so now I have access to the bulb, but the bulb wont just pull out. There are 2 tiny holes on each side of the white plastic piece that is covering the MR-16 pins. The wire that comes down from the monorail splits into 2 wires that come down into the top of the white plastic piece. It seems like I would have to stick a pin or something into the side holes that I described to release the bulb? Maybe that is not the case and all I have to do is pull really hard to pull the bulb out, but it seems like it might break if pull with too much force. if you cant figure out what i am describing maybe i can email someone a picture of this.

Sonny answers:

From your description your lamps are held with allen screws, as opposed to push in lamp holders, these are quite reliable as they make good contact. If you have loosened the screws the lamps should pull out, if they won’t move, try removing the screws completely as the pins may have bent slightly and have locked in place. If the pins come off the glass you can then get a grip with pliers.

You say that you have ‘A’ screw ! You should have two – one on each pin.

First read the specs on the xformer to make sure it is rated to handle 100watts.Remove the bulbs before installing the new xformer to check the low voltage lines for short circuit with your multi-meter or tester.
I have installed several light fixtures with MR 16 low voltage halogen lamps and they came with an installation tool.
It is like a suction cup. You attach the cup to the flat surface of the lamp, making it easy to install/remove the lamp.

Do you think solar panel roadways linked across the country could reverse the effects of global climate change

My Idea for solving Hydrocarbon Problems
My idea consists of creating an electrical system placed upon our nations highways in the form of an interconnected highly durable plastic solar panel system. Imagine if all of our roads were covered with such a system! Once manufactured, in the form of large and long plastic rolls, the system would make up the top layer of the roadway.

Plastics are being developed now which can store charges (batteries), conduct electricity, produce light (flexible television screens), and I would not doubt- also provide magnetic properties. By adding silicon in different property levels of ionic charge distributions, according to the movement of electrons flowing from lower energy voids to higher, solar activation of propulsions would be easily achieved, stored, and be made available to all in need of energy supplies.

Charge current could be supplied to moving vehicles as they travel and vehicles would never need to leave the road to charge. This could be achieved by proximity of tires to the road through conductive wires located within the tires or even by methods not easily explained other than in laymen’s terms. There are methods of charging by magnetic proximity which would be enhanced due to movement. Advances in understanding the magnetic properties associated to moving aluminum allow the use of aluminum in products not to mention the use of plastics for lightweight materials of vehicles. Carbon fiber materials are perspective as well.

All surfaces of vehicles, buildings, and walkways are possible locations for the development of solar power generating surfaces.

The importance of developing systems which cover roadways are unlimited. The system should be developed with the perspective of controlling vehicles; propelling vehicles by magnetic pulse, future levitation of vehicles by mirror action magnetic repulsion now seen in superconductive materials, traffic control, and accident prevention. Tracking of all users as well as communication and information and data transfer should be implemented into the construction process. Management of surface durability and ice prevention are also benefits.

The future of vehicle self-drive systems would be highly manageable due to the construction of these roadways as well as national security. As the use of liquid fuel engines would become obsolete in the near future, everyone on the roadways could be easily accounted for at all times.

The idea certainly makes me think…I love questions that make me ponder “now why didn’t I think of that? It makes sense!” I’d like to answer a few questions and concerns which other answerers have brought to light.

Semi-trucks can’t stop hauling because America lives through the goods the truckers haul. And up here in MN, the river barges bring up alot of goods, but they can only run when the river isn’t frozen…we’d be in big trouble without the truckers running in the winter months.

The current road workers would simply switch materials, instead of laying asphalt and concrete, they’d lay solar panels and electrical wiring. And as for the oil industry employees, they can help maintain the new roadways. With a project like this, there’ll be plenty to do and there’ll be people who need that work.

If we can go from home-spun and wooden farm implements to tv and cell phones in 200 years, there’s no reason why we shouldn’t be able to go from asphalt and oil to solar panels and magnetic cars in another 200. The colonists would never have dreamed of the things we have now, the inventions we’ve come up with. So it’s understandable that we now can’t fathom using solar panels for roadways.

How will erasing our dependancy on oil and building electro-magnetic interstate highways revert us into a 3rd world country? We’d still be thriving and expanding, we’d be moving forward. Some 3rd world countries still have public plumbing in the streets and walk further everyday for dry wood to heat their homes and hearths.

What WOULD the durability of these panels be? Would we have to reduce speed limits (which increases travel time, thus making a moot issue of conservancy and prevention) so there’d potentially be fewer accidents?

As for Star Trek, you should have watched the show titled something like “How William Shatner Changed the World”. The guy who invented cell phones got the idea from Kirk’s communicator that he was constantly flipping out of his pocket.

I’d be willing to take part in such a venture as this, but I need more research done and stats provided because I can’t answer anything about another person’s concerns about CO2 or heat or friction. Plus, I have a question of my own. In the regions that get snow, plus those that flood, how will we prevent the electricity from shorting out? If I’m reading the original proposition correctly, electricity keeps traffic moving. Traffic standing still is generally something seen in big cities (or construction on the I-90 bridge here, LOL) So would little burbs of 50K people have traffic jams like LA notoriously does if the electricity shorts out?

94 grand Cherokee has some “slop” in front end, any ideas?

I have a 94 Grand Cherokee Laredeo, Staight 6, command track, newly rebuilt tranny, 165K. The problem is the jeep has a little slop in the front end pretty much through all driving speeds. The rims and tires are great and balanced. I recently replaced the front flexible brake lines because the abs light is on most of the time and the pads, rotors, and callipers look to be very good. While braking it sounds like the rear brakes need to be replaced too. I did notice that the front shocks seem to have a little play from side to side, so thay should be replaced, but could that be the problem? Everything else except the front drivers side upper ball joint looks to be original. What should I look into first, and what are the most common causes of steering problems in these grand cherokees? Best one will get the 10 points. Thanks for looking.
Yeah, I reported that jiffy lube Dusche to Yahoo. You are exactly right, If he knew anything about jeeps, he would know that it is a straight rear axle with the only “cv” joints or correction-universal joints located at the front axle and the front and rear drive shafts. And by the way, chrysler vehicles (after about 100K especially the Neon) are known for the flexible brake lines collapsing together when the brake pedal is depressed and let off causing the brakes to hang and thus making the abs light activate, because of the difference in wheel speed. This dumb a** is just a waste of space and needs to be taken off of Yahoo Answers! What a stupid sh!t.

Sonny answers:

Tie rod ends and the rest of the ball joints . I also think they had problems with where the steering box bolted to the frame, they tended to crack. Also are your tire pressures correct if it is lower than 35psi when cold you can get a sloppy feel to your front end as well as worn shocks could give that feel too.
You are partially correct in replacing the hoses to the brake lines, the could have been collapsing due to the age and milage. If the previouse replier read he would have noticed you said front end slop not general shimmy… Then again what do you expect from a jiffy lube flunkie. You also dont have rear cv joints the rear stabilizer would cause issues on the rear not front and the rest has nothing to do with the front end shimmy either
the track bar or steering stabilizer will cause a violent shake known as a death wobble when hitting a pothole or bump to hard . Not during general driving. You also don’t check ball joints on a jeep like that by wiggleig the tire like described. You need a large pair of channel locks and have one jaw on the top and one on the bottom and squeeze. Mine never moved in the way the other guy described but when i replaced them the joint part fell out of the socket part on a couple of them.. Im telling you these things i know from experiance not just he told me or whatever i did attend a automotive tech center plus had futher training by the shop supervisor which not ony taught me how to check things but why we check them that way.. Meaning like i said with the ball joints you will never get movement the way the other guy said to check them.

Question about becoming a choreographer?

I’m fifteen, and I’ve been dancing since I was three. I’m incredibly passionate about dance – I did ballet from when I was three until I was twelve. I stopped for a couple of years, and am starting it again this school year. I started doing contemporary and jazz when I was thirteen. However, looking at my body and how it’s changed, I don’t know (okay, I know) that I don’t have the body to become the dancer that I want to be.. My measurements are 38 – 30 – 39, which is massive. I’m 5’5″, and very muscular (it comes from track and field for four years). I weigh about 155 pounds. I’m not light. I am, however, decently flexible.

It’s so discouraging to look at skinnier dancers doing the same moves as I do – because even if I do it with the same effort as they do, they always, always look better. It makes me so sad. Because of this, I’ve considered looking into a career in choreography – but I don’t know how to get there. I’m looking at colleges (as it’ll be my turn to apply in a matter of years) but I don’t know where to start. How do I start working my way towards becoming a contemporary/jazz choreographer?

Sonny answers:

You are NOT massive. I wanted to be a choreographer when I was younger but didn’t start taking dance classes until I entered my 30s so I am way too late into the game. But since you have already been dancing for several years you should have a much better chance at it them I ever would. Talk to your dance teachers and ask if they have any information that can help you out, talk to your high school guidance councilor, that is what they are paid for..helping students find the right college and career path. Good luck.

Monorail lighting systems are known best by their elegance, style and materials. These light fittings are very versatile and flexible also.

The monorail’s distinctive track means that you can customize the direction and level of lighting your rooms need using this setting.

This feature also allows you to install them very easily in the ceiling, wall or both. The tracks can also be cut to fit the place you want to put it.

A Very Flexible Way To Light Up Your Home

Monorail lighting systems are a state of the art light design that allows a person to configure the lighting any way they choose. The system is a low-voltage single circuit, two conductor rails available in four and eight-foot lengths.

Usually used best for task or accent lighting, these systems are used with xenon or halogen bulbs.

Molding Monorails by Hand

One is able to mold the monorail by hand into a shape that best fits ones style or needs. It is bendable by hand to a minimum radius of 12 inches

Geometric and straight shapes can also be achieved using L and T connectors.

Do-It-Yourself Monorail Kits

There are do-it-yourself kits available that provide everything you would need to launch your own project, except for the actual light fixtures.

The first thing to consider would be the amount of drop below the ceiling where the monorail is going to be installed.

To suspend the monorail, you will need to use either a rigid rod or aircraft cable. You will have to form it to the shape that you desire before suspending the monorail.

A Second Transformer May be Needed

Regarding power source, the rails are rated for a maximum output of 300 watts at 12 volts or 600 watts at 24 volts.

However, if the sum of the wattages of the bulbs to be connected exceeds the wattage of the transformer, a second transformer is needed.

The light source offers three different types of fixtures that can be connected to the monorail. They actually connect directly to the track itself.

Advantages of Monorail Lighting

One of the advantages of this type of lighting is that it allows the track to follow the contour of the object being illuminated. There is a great degree of flexibility when wiring for these lighting systems since the transformer can be hidden in a remote location.

You also have the option to install it where a previous light was located. There are so many places that the monorail lighting can be installed that the possibilities are virtually endless.

Enhancing Your Home

Monorail lighting systems are great for illuminating such things as artwork. They also work well in areas where there are mounted ceilings so that the lighting needs to be brought down to a level plane.

Many commercial businesses, especially such places as department and clothing stores, rely on monorail lighting.

The reason for its popularity within the business sector is because there are so many changes within a storefront and monorail lighting can easily be changed to adapt to such changes.

Business Uses of Monorail Lighting Systems

It also looks great and fits most of retailer needs for flexible and adaptable lighting. These lighting systems have intense low wattage bulbs that allow the colors and the quality of retail items to really stand out.

Of course this makes the merchandise look more appealing to the customer which in return increases sales too.

While there are both advantages and disadvantages of monorail lighting, the advantages seem to surpass the disadvantages.

This type of lighting system is a sure way to add interest to any room through the various fixtures that can be added to bring elegance and beauty to your room.

Whenever you are utilizing your kitchen you often want to have adequate lighting. It makes the room look and function better.

Considering that you frequently are wielding a sharp implement in the kitchen. great lighting also makes the space a little safer.

As is accurate all through a lot of older houses, the lighting for an whole room regularly comes from a single light fixture.

Sometimes a kitchen might also have a light over the stove, but that is not a lot support when it comes to food prep.

As you are thinking about how to brighten up your kitchen, you want to look at a number of various lighting options.

Track lighting is the easiest choice to install, and there are some, newer selections accessible that are truly nice looking.

Track lighting is an effortless transition from a single light source to adding even lighting all through a space.

You can even use track lighting to offer job lighting with out having to make a single alter to your electrical wiring.

There are a couple of things, however, that you want to take into account just before deciding on a new track lighting method for your kitchen.

3 Options

With track lighting there are 3 standard system types that are accessible: They are Halo, Juno and Lightolier. Each and every 1 uses a different style track and only uses light fixtures to fit that kind of track.

Track fixtures are labeled H, J or L, so it is truly straightforward to identify which fixtures go with which track. So as you are selecting your track lighting for your kitchen, maintain in mind that when you choose a program you will only be able to use fixtures that are compatible with that program.

With this in mind, then it may well be a good notion to decide on your fixtures very first and then back your way into the track program that you goes with those fixtures.

Style Your Layout

Next, determine where you want your lights to be. You will want very good lighting over your sink and prep counter as well as your refrigerator and stove.

If you have an eat-in kitchen, you will want some great light in this area as well.

Choose Your Fixtures

Now that you have decided on the configuration of your lighting, you will want to pick your fixtures. You can choose from low voltage or line voltage.

The low voltage lamps come with a base that converts the 120-volt existing to 12 volt.

Line voltage pulls the present straight off of the track. Normally line voltage is the most energy effective selection.

Contemplate Your Bulbs

When you choose inline fixtures you will want to use CFL light bulbs. You may well also want to attempt the newer LED light bulbs.

If you want to spot specific areas with light, you can try the CFL flood lamps. These options are not as hot as incandescent or halogen light bulbs.

Rather than use a spotlight, you can also just install numerous light fixtures in close proximity to each and every other to brighten the region.

If you know how to install electrical fixtures then you can install the tracks your self, otherwise it may well be a great notion to hire an skilled electrician to do the installation for you.

Flexible Lighting

If you have vaulted ceilings in your kitchen, you may well still be able to use track lighting to light your space.

You can find kits that let you suspend your lighting from the ceiling, giving you not only excellent lighting but adding a small drama to the space as well.

Although there are other selections when you are updating the lighting in your kitchen, track lighting is one of the most price powerful and easy solutions to this problem.

Sonny answers:

Obviously, adding any material won’t reduce weight. Your friend may have made a modification by filing off some material, but I suspect his board isn’t really lighter, but moves with less friction due to the lubrication of the baby oil. Try it; you may have the same effect you find in your friend’s board. Just go easy on the oil. A little goes a long way! A sprtiz of WD-40 might be better,

The most accurate and dependable way of locating an authentic LCN nail tech in your area would be to call LCN at their company’s U.S.A. I am the tech director in my highschool’s drama club, so I recognized most of the lights used as PARs, but they were using another type of light that I did not recognize. They were hanging, moving lights that shot out focused beams. There were also some on the floor of the stage that had less focused beams. I don’t think that they are really used in theatre lighting, probably just in concerts. I was just wondering if anyone knew what these were called.
They are no doubt various kinds of ellipsoidal and fresnel spotlights. In today’s lighting, the spotlights have remotely controlled motors which allow them to be refocused in use. Some also have color-changing ability. They are used both in concerts and theatrical productions. But few schools have them due to the great expense.

Also, is it possible to find a job in tech theater that does not require you to work on Sunday?
It’s not hard. Crew members are always needed. Try looking here:

http://www.backstagejobs.com

A LOT of theatre techs have college educations, with training in technical theatre. (This includes positions such as: set designers, lighting designers, technical directors, stage managers, etc.), but I’m pretty sure you can get a crew position with a non-union company with a little persistance.

Working on Sundays, on the other hand, is pretty much a necessary evil in the industry. (This also includes every genre professional performance technician from Broadway to corporate events, to rock venues.) The schedule usually changes constantly, and the hours are usually long.

I guess you are not worried that the dampness will in fact spread throughout the house and cause damage in other locations of the house, not to mention the constant humidity will not only help your mushrooms grow but many other types of mold. You really should do this in a concrete type of building

Depending on the type of track lighting you have It should be very easy to wire a plug to the track lighting and plug it directly in to the outlet.
Sonny answers:

Yeah but they are very hard to find. What I would suggest to you is to get a normal track light and get normal house wire(used for the electrical in the wall). Then buy a junction box (http://img.alibaba.com/photo/11147813/Junction_Box.jpg)
and screw it in a stud in the cieling, once done attach the wire that you have to the wire of the fixture in the junction box ( black on black, white on white, green to copper). Then run the wire across the cieling down your wall. They sell little plugs that you can buy to attach to open wiring so you can plug in (http://www.drillspot.com/pimages/186/18665_300.jpg)
then just attach your wiring to your plug and plug it in.
Also if you wan to hide your wiring, they sell wire coverings that you place over the wire and you can paint them aswell.

For recessed cans figure about 60-70 dollars for can and install, if they can be put up and interconnected. Track is easier to mount, and depending on the room size and where you want the lights to be on the track, is a little harder to give you a figure. Track kits run from 40-a few hundred dollars.

Monorail lighting systems are characterized best by their beauty, design and materials. When you get monorail lighting kits they normally come with the needed supplies and instructions to fully enjoy its advantages. Its distinct features allow you to customize the light in a room.

Having this track lighting system can enhance the beauty of your house. It can be bent by your hands and form it into a shape that you desire, making each and every design exclusive. The monorail system is ideal both for property and commercial lighting.

Designers, homeowners and architects recommend the use of monorail track lighting due to the fact of several benefits over other track light systems.

Besides from being shaped into your desired form, monorail lighting is obtainable in varied premium finishes such as brushed nickel, chrome, gold and antique bronze. These finishes enable these fixtures to blend with other residence decor.

The mounting systems are also varied to fit to your needs and requirements. Due to the fact it is a contemporary lighting system, it is a lot more compact than its predecessors.

To use the monorail lighting kits, you will need to very first install a low voltage transformer for its electrical switch. The transformer will supply the required the low voltage to power the monorail lights. When you choose this track lighting system, check your transformer once in whilst to make sure it is working proper.

Then, you require to drill holes into the ceiling the size of the brackets you are going to use to suspend the monorail lighting. If you have bent the monorail, make specific that the holes are appropriately spaced.

Much better yet, ask for assistance from any of your capable pals or family members. They can hold the track in location as you mark the holes with a marker or pencil

Attach the track to the holes you had previously developed. This can be accomplished in two techniques.

If the monorail requires direct connection, you simply screw it into the ceiling holes with the appropriate screwdriver.

If you are utilizing hanging monorail, have the braces securely screwed. You must also make sure that the track runs by means of and locks in its proper location.

Run the power of the monorail into the electrical system. It is effortless to establish the wires simply because they are color-coded. The same color of wire should match the wires on the ceiling. Connect the wires making use of soldering iron or twist connectors.

Run a test on the monorail lighting system by turning the light switch on and off. This will make particular that the electrical power is properly connected. You can now adjust the fixtures on the monorail and position them according to your satisfaction.

The track is straightforward to relocate, making it flexible and portable. The track will accept different types of light bulbs and lighting fixtures.

You can have monorail pendants in your kitchen. You can have halo lighting in your basement. You can also use monorail lighting for your outdoor lights.

When you select the suspension, ensure that the standard drop-down distance is met. The monorail lighting is supported every single 42 inches and far more regularly along curves.

This lighting system is effortless to install, has flexible positioning, and has low voltage for safety. So go out and buy to give your home or office accent lighting.

Track lighting may be the ideal solution for places at home which are small, badly lit areas. The heads throw lighting on these, usually shadowy spots, making the area able to be used.

Decorative track lighting is an excellent choice when varying levels of lighting may be needed, for instance in your kitchen.

These lights make the perfect choice for a child’s bedroom. They are flexible and practical, and may grow with your children to allow for hobbies, play and studying.

Track lights are easily fitted and provide good overall flexibility. Individual lighting fixtures, known as track heads, are made to deal with everything from gentle floodlights that cover a large area to vibrant chandeliers and spotlights.

Choosing Track Light Fixtures

Many folks consider the selection and installation of track light fixtures a challenge. This is so when you do not have the technical knowledge and you are new to how an electrical system works.

Throughout the installation, the fixtures are attached to tracks and this is where the difficulty arises since some manufacturers do not make standard systems.

There are 3 major standards that require to be adhered to i.e. the Juno, the Lightolier and the Halo. With these in mind one should not find it hard to fit the matching devices to the fixture from end to end.

If you locate some track light fixtures that are not compatible with the above standards, beware of the store chain that sold it to you. You could be dealing with a fake product, a product that is void of the quality produced by this kind of illumination.

Whether you do the installation your self or you hire a professional one thing really should be clear, that they must fit!

I wish at this point to give you some ideas to contemplate when installing track light fixtures:

1) To create a ideal layout, use the connectors and the track lengths as they are intended.

2) When doing the installation you can either use a typical junction box with a power supply or you can pull a regular power cord to the outlet.

3) Whilst you might be able to do 1 and 2 your self, considering a professional electrician to take care of the wiring could be a wise idea.

4) There are two kinds of bulbs that will accompany your track illumination system depending on the diameter and the brightness required i.e. flood lights and spot lights. You can thus illuminate huge areas and small specific locations by use of diverse combination of spots and floods.

All said and performed, the end result will be dependent on your selection of the light fixtures and the kind of the bulbs that you use.

Bathroom spaces can also benefit from track lighting simply because it is within this area that we perform our most crucial daily tasks.

Routine tasks, such as shaving, grooming, and facial enhancement all take place inside the bathroom, so adequate illumination is required within this space.

When you hear the term “ceiling lights,” it can mean a broad range of fixtures. Technically, a ceiling light is any light source that originates from the ceiling to brighten a living space, so there are tons of possibilities.

It can include lighting that’s a focal point or a fixture designed to illuminate an entire room evenly. When it comes to fixtures, there’s virtually no shortage of alternatives.

Take a look above you, and chances are there’s a ceiling light of one kind or other installed. From the bathroom and kitchen to bedroom and hallway, there’s a ceiling light for your requirements.

Chandeliers are possibly the most versatile ceiling lights. They supply exceptional illumination, they can be as elegant or as basic as you pick, and they vary wildly in size and theme.

From three-light mini chandeliers to 3-tier, 21-light pieces, chandeliers may just be the ideal ceiling light. You have a ton of theme possibilities, as well as contemporary, antique, wrought iron and crystal.

Flushmount and semi-flush fixtures are the most well-known kinds of ceiling lights. They’re typically designed to spread a broad range of light in a hallway, bathroom, or bedroom. They can also be employed as outdoor ceiling fixtures for the porch-just make sure it’s UL-rated for outdoor use.

We can lump island fixtures, pendants and multi-light fixtures into the exact same category. They all hang from the ceiling-either by a chain like an island fixture (also called a billiard fixture), by its frame like a pendant or a flexible wire like multi-light fixtures.

An island fixture is designed to hang over a kitchen island, but you can surely install one over the dining room table-anywhere you may possibly require to focus some light.

Pendants include the larger bowl pendant and the much more versatile mini pendant. And multi-light fixtures are essentially a series of mini pendants, but connected at the ceiling.

Track lighting is created to be flexible, move any way you want it to for any distance you choose, and you can direct the lights in virtually any direction. With that said, track lighting is one of the rare ceiling fixtures that will take a fair deal of planning and installation time.

Other ceiling lighting choices include recessed lighting (or can lights) and spotlights.

Recessed lighting is installed directly up into the ceiling itself, while spotlights are usually mounted on the ceiling. Both can be installed pretty significantly anywhere in the house and the light can be aimed to point in a certain direction.

Ceiling lighting is the most effective way to illuminate an entire room. Although it’s a ubiquitous approach of lighting, by no means are you limited to a lackluster fixture.

Until next time, Happy Home Improving!

Modern track lighting has come a lengthy way as it can now be placed on walls instead of just ceilings. The use of monorail and cable has truly revolutionized track lighting.

Prior to the advent of contemporary track systems, individuals had been very restricted as to how and where they could place their light fixtures.

There was a time when dining room lights had been in the center of the room and that was where they had to stay. Or they had been put on a swag hook and hung from the ceiling.

Place Your Lighting Anywhere You Want

Now, with new modern system, you can place the light wherever you want regardless of where the original fixture is positioned.

Track lighting offers other advantages – it delivers electricity precisely where you want it and it is quite attractive as well.

There is no doubt that it is becoming even a lot more flexible and even far more cost efficient – the bulbs are acquiring smaller whilst the lights are getting brighter.

The appeal of the newer systems is a lot far more visual – it is thinner, and with the newer monorail designs they now come in various configurations: straight or flexible tracks, cable systems as well ribbon-style arrangements.

A lot more Selection and Selection in Illumination

Essentially, now there is a entire lot more track lighting to choose from. There is also the far more modern development of low voltage systems which enables for far more elite, smaller, and unique fixtures that are quite typically a lot more appealing.

Fixture styles can vary from a metal futuristic appeal to a glass pendant fixture. There are ready made tracks that are shaped in several diverse techniques such as zig zag, curvy, or wavy. There are also flexible tracks that can be bent by hand to shape in the way that you want.

Brighter Kitchen

Installing the right lights makes a room look stunning and offers improved function. The modern approach is an outstanding thought in the kitchen and need to undoubtedly be considered if you are renovating.

Task and accent lighting becomes complete with the most recent innovations. Any pantry, cabinet, kitchen island, drawer or closet can be illuminated. These modern tracks really accentuate any kitchen.

Lighting in the Bathroom

This system works out wonderful in the bathroom as well. You can apply low lights when you are relaxing in the tub or you can apply brighter ones when you are applying make up.

The decorating ideas are endless when it comes to track lighting as you can choose from thousands of different fixtures to match your décor.

Track Lighting Need to not be Employed By Itself

1 thing about the track system is that it really should not be utilized as the sole light provider in the room, due to the fact they do not supply sufficient light for that purpose. The pendant fixtures work well for less shadowing.

If you are placing the tracks on the walls rather than the ceiling then you ought to situate them about each and every two or 3 feet, which enables light to wash across the entire wall region.

Making use of tracks is so flexible that as you move your furniture around you can also adjust the lighting. Modern track lighting is the perfect way to spruce up any room.

Track lighting is easier to fit and is far more versatile because the direction of every head may be individually adjusted.

Additional lamps can also be added to a track lighting system at any time in the event the initial lamps don’t provide sufficient light.

Importance of Track Lighting Fixtures

The track lighting fixtures are vital for all houses and establishments. They are not only used to illuminate areas, but it is also used to accentuate the overall ambiance of different kinds of rooms. These lights are available in different designs colors shapes, sizes and power output.

Track light can be used in wide array of purposes on homes, theaters, art studios, work places, public places, auditoriums, and cinemas. This kind of lighting has the ability to give directional and focal lighting.

Many people choose this kind of light for all kinds of functions. It can enhance some areas with an excellent lighting but needs added focus on its accent features. Track light is not a popular choice for interior designers especially for upscale decorating purposes.

However, this kind of lighting is popular choice for places like theater because of its model features and enclosed bright spotlights. It is popular that track lights are suited for modern styling. There are designers who are making some innovative use when it comes to track lighting in homes as an accent or as pendant lighting.

The track lighting fixtures is made up of a system of canisters fixtures. The power of the lighting fixtures runs through the track and to each fixture. Once the track is already in place and the position of the bulb and its head are fine, it can be adjusted in any direction you wish.

The flexibility of the track lighting depends upon the flexibility of the track. All track lights are usually powered by 120 volt fittings. There are larger and bulkier transformers built for each fixture.

Modern design track lights include line voltage and low-voltage lighting. The one with line voltage is perfect for rooms with higher ceilings, while the low-voltage heads is perfect for energy efficiency.

The benefit of having track lighting is undeniable birth for home and office purposes. Anyone will consider this type of lighting for their home and work space.

It is recommended to hire the service of a professional in installing the track lighting fixtures for safety of homes and working areas.

I am confused as to whether California and/or the NEC considers track lighting a lamp or a built in fixture.

I want to attach the track to the suspended ceiling using t-bar clips and use a live end with a plug (all made by the manufacturer) that will be plugged into a wall socket.

I have read that the code simply requires the rating of the track (aka 15 amps) to be equal or more than the supply rating. I assume this is so the track cannot be overloaded without first overloading the branch circuit.

Also, what should I expect to pay an electrician if I wanted the wiring attached to the existing fluorescent fixtures and wall switches connected to the track?

Some manufacturers refer to their track lighting as “commercial” and others do not.

Is there a difference?

OR does someone know how to switch which outlets are connected to the light switch in the room?

Currently the only one is next to the bed, an needless to say, its pretty dark in the bedroom!

How can I tell if the track system I bought can connect to a power cord?
