Adding More Lights To Track Lighting
HELLO, I have a 3 bulb track lighting i got from Lowes and while back. I added one light to it.
QUESTION IS – can I add another and would it be safe ? The bulbs are 50 watts a piece. so I already have 200 watts on it already. Thanks alot and God Bless

The answer is yes, if it is line voltage or the track heads have their own transformer for low voltage. The capacity rating will be dependent on your circuit load in amps. If direct wired into a canopy or if plugged into a socket, I imagine either will have a 15amp rating. Wattage divided by volts equal amp load. Right now you are at about 1.7amps. You will have to consider what else is on that circuit if you plan to add very many more. But if it is just one or two you will be alright. The other consideration is if it is controlled by a wall switch or dimmer. Some are only rated for up to 300Watts.
